A new website built for accessibility,
clarity and public safety

Lancashire Fire and Rescue

The challenge

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service supports over 1.5 million people across Lancashire, operating from thirty-nine stations around the clock, every day of the year. To better serve the public and meet evolving digital expectations, a new website was commissioned that adheres fully to the latest accessibility standards, in line with public sector best practice.

The new site makes it easy to find information on any device and introduces a simple way to report fire safety concerns online. With a streamlined CMS, the team can keep content fresh and the public informed—quickly and easily.

The result is a modern, accessible digital platform that reflects the vital, round-the-clock service the organisation provides—and supports its mission to keep Lancashire safe.

Strategy

We worked closely with the executive and marketing team to run a detailed discovery process, defining organisational goals and audience needs. From a clear value proposition and mapped user journeys, we developed wireframes and a design that aligns with the brand identity.

Enhanced visuals, colour, and iconography—paired with dynamic features—bring the site to life while delivering a seamless user experience. Built to meet public sector accessibility standards, the website also includes practical tools like a filtered latest incident alert to keep users informed.
