The challenge

Lancaster and Morecambe has a visitor proposition with huge potential – an historic city, iconic seaside resort, miles of surrounding countryside and coast, and plenty to see and do. The rise of staycations and an increase in international visitors presented an opportunity to reposition the region for growth.

As part of a new tourism and place strategy, we were appointed by Lancaster City Council to create a new tourism destination and inward investment website that offers a user-friendly, engaging and accessible user experience to help visitors discover places, plan trips, and make the most of their stay with interactive tools.

The strategy

We worked with the Lancaster City Council tourism team by undertaking a thorough research and understanding process as part of their new tourism and place strategy.

New people-focused photography, a bold and fresh colour palette with immersive video and brand-led illustrations brought the website experience to life.
