The Project

Once the beating heart of Ulverston’s milling industry, The Mill was formerly known as the Ulverston Town Mill, supplying flour to generations of families across the South Lakes.

Now beautifully restored and run by the Lancaster Brewery group, The Mill has been transformed into a charming, contemporary gastropub. While the interiors have been thoughtfully refurbished with a modern touch, many original features remain—including the impressive working waterwheel, offering a unique nod to the building’s industrial heritage.

Strategy

Having worked with the Lancaster Brewery group for many years, we were asked to create a new website for The Mill that would celebrate its heritage and showcase everything that makes this gastropub truly special.

The goal was to tell the story of this much-loved Ulverston landmark while highlighting its unique offering—from local and world-class cask marque beers, premium spirits, and crafted cocktails across its bars, snug, and terrace, to outstanding home-cooked food and a refined fine dining experience unlike any other.
