Georgia plans and creates engaging content for social media, keeping up to date with new trends and patterns to help clients reach new audiences. She previously worked for an agency in Cumbria where she managed a range of social accounts for clients in various sectors, from hospitality and leisure to automotive infotainment.
Georgia studied Creative Writing at Bath Spa University, but the pull of the North brought her home. She now lives in Lancaster with her partner and two questionably-behaved cats, Kira and Megabyte.
What was your first job?
I worked part-time as a housekeeper while at Uni. Not the most glamorous of jobs, but it gave me a healthy obsession with cleaning (which came in handy in my student house!)
What are your favourite records?
My music taste is all over the place so you can catch me listening to almost anything, but my favourite artists include Ricky Montgomery, McFly, Scouting for Girls, MARINA and Maneskin. I also have a huge love of musical theatre and enjoy performing my favourite tunes from the comfort of my kitchen.
What are your favourite books?
I’m a huge bookworm and could spend hours rambling about my favourites. I read a lot of middle-grade and YA novels, as well as romance, but my favourite book of all time has to be Treasure Island. I love the story so much, I have a collection of different editions.
What are your favourite apps?
Instagram, Spotify and Duolingo. I also spend far too much time on TikTok.
What are your favourite films?
I’m a huge Disney fan, so my favourites include Treasure Planet, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Peter Pan. I also absolutely love Spirited Away by Studio Ghibli - the animation is stunning!
What are your favourite TV shows?
Animation has always been a huge interest of mine, so most of the shows I love are animated - from children’s shows like Gravity Falls, to adult animation like Hazbin Hotel, and anime (my favourite is Death Note). I also have a huge soft spot for the BBC show Ghosts as I’ve followed the work of the writers/actors since childhood.
What are your favourite places to visit?
My favourite place in the world is York. I also love heading back down to Bath to relive my Uni days, and hopping on a plane to Croatia is always wonderful.
What did you want to be when growing up?
A children’s writer, and this dream still hasn’t left. In my spare time I still enjoy writing Middle Grade and YA novels, though none have been published yet!
Tell us something we don't know about you
My biggest hobby is cosplaying. I love everything about it from planning and working on costumes to attending conventions and meeting other cosplayers. There’s something so uniquely freeing about taking on a new persona and transforming into a character I love. I’m still relatively new to the scene and have lots to learn, but I’m slowly discovering new techniques and hacks (it’s not unusual for me to spend an evening washing wigs in the sink). I share my cosplays and convention adventures on Instagram and TikTok.
