We attended Taste Lancashire 2022 at the stunning Holmes Mill in Clitheroe, where Lancashire’s best farmers, retailers, buyers, chefs, and food and drinks entrepreneurs came together to celebrate the best of Lancashire.
We heard from industry experts and commentators on trends, issues and perceptions of Lancashire food, drink and hospitality; and they shared insights and expertise to help further develop the profile of Lancashire’s food and drink sector. The event was hosted by BBC Radio 4’s Caz Graham.
The event opened with a keynote from Paul Hargreaves, CEO of wholesaler Cotswold Fayre and author of ‘Being A Better Business’.
Taste Lancashire 2022’s keynote speakers included a Hairy Biker!
We loved the keynote from Si King – one half of the well-known ‘Hairy Bikers’ duo. The BBC Two show “The Hairy Bikers Go North” brought many of Lancashire’s food and drink producers into the limelight – including Goosnargh Gin, who were also in attendance.
Taste Lancashire 2022 topics of discussion included:
- Sustainability and the journey to Net Zero – including solar powered farming
- The B-Corp movement and why it’s so important
- Diversification
- Marketing your business
- Storytelling – including what goes on behind the scenes
- Community and the importance of supporting local businesses
So, how was the food?
Hotfoot’s own Guy Cookson-Rabouhi (Marketing Director and Partner) and Verity Agababian (Marketing Lead) enjoyed a day of networking, listening to insightful discussions about farming, organic produce, and hospitality businesses in Lancashire. And it’s safe to say, they definitely got involved in tasting the local produce supplied by Booths, Morecambe Bay Chowder Co., Pudilicious, and more.
Everyone at the event also received a lovely branded tote bag with goodies from local suppliers.
It says “Think Lancashire is all Chorley cakes and Blackpool rock? What a load of tripe! Think again!”
Who attended Taste Lancashire 2022?
Lancashire food and drink producers in attendance were Cuckoo Gin (of Brindle Distillery), Farm Yard Brew Co, Goosnargh Gin, Atkinson’s Coffee, Pudilicious, The Bee Centre, Lytham Gin – to name a few local businesses.
