Listening to music can increase motivation, reduce stress and promote a more positive mindset. Many of the team members at Hotfoot listen to music as part of their daily routine, and we thought delving into their playlists would be a great way to get to know more about them. We caught up with a few of the Hotties to hear about their current earworms, their favourite artists and the tunes that help them focus.
We’re starting with Senior Developer Niall, who takes us through his top three genres, favourite artists and the tracks he’s recently had on repeat.
Niall’s top picks…
Progressive Metal
TesseracT: ‘A phenomenally talented band that’s fairly technical and complex, but with some beautiful vocals.’
Recommended song: The Grey
The Omnific: ‘An instrumental band with two bassists and a drummer. Very unique and technical stuff with some really funky sections.’
Recommended track: Antecedent – ‘There’s such an awesome bit halfway through this track!’
Drum n Bass
Wilkinson: ‘Chilled, Drum n Bass, great to work to and just listen to in general.’
Recommended song: Infinity (feat. ILIRA, iiola & Tom Cane)
Take Me As I Am by Chris Lorenzo & The Streets: ‘Mike Skinner doing a Drum n Bass track, what’s not to love? It’s so good, catchy and one of those tracks that I would love to be able to hear so loud that the bass catches my breath.’
Hard Dance
Push Up by Creeds: ‘I find this kind of track really helps me hyperfocus. For me, it’s on the softer side of hard dance, but you could still get the same feeling from it if it was loud enough.’
Rampage (Creeds Remix) by Bollmann: ‘Okay okay, yeah it’s technically another Creeds track. It’s brilliant though – this one goes really hard!’
